- JUST’IS (Judge Us So That I See) also known as Duronn James was born in the “City-of-brotherly love” Philadelphia, P.A. on the West side. Just’is is also a CEO, Writer, Recording Artist, Entertainer, Actor, Consultant and Agent. Just’is lived in the housing projects on 46th & Holden until he was 10 years old. After Justis’s family moved to the North side of Camden, NJ (a city that has been notoriously known for its poverty, drug trade, and gangland murders) Justis’s living arrangements changed drastically! Not surprisingly the City’s initials are: CMD which is an abbreviation to: Cash Murder and Drugs.
Growing up as a kid - for Just’is the only people who APPEARED to be successful were the drug dealers and local gangsters. Just’is wasn’t a big fan of Rap Music until he heard the music of WU TANG CLAN. The music of this Hip Hop group impacted JUSTIS so greatly, that he began writing about his thoughts, life, and experiences on paper.
It wasn’t long before Just’is started traveling to New York, where he was mentored in the Art of song making by SWIFT and ZEVONE in the South Bronx. JUST’IS made the trip back and fourth from Camden, NJ to New York every week. That dedication and determination paid off big time - it landed JUST’IS in front of ANDRE NEAL of VIOLATOR. NEAL was impressed with JUST’IS, but said to him: "JUST’IS I DONT THINK YOU ARE HUNGRY ENOUGH.” That was all JUST’IS needed to hear! After that meeting JUST’IS was published in OZONE MAGAZINE’S Hottest 16 bars section!
One of the top selling black music magazines in the U.K. (ILL WILL) BLUES AND SOUL (40 years in the business), also did an article on JUSTIS. They compared JUSTIS to NOTORIOUS B.I.G (ORIGINAL FLOW), 2PAC SHAKUR (LEADERSHIP ABILITY), and 50 CENT (BUSINESS MOVES)!
IMPULSE MAGAZINE was the first magazine in North America to interview JUST’IS (CHECK OUT THAT INTERVIEW IN THE BLOG SECTION).
What sets JUSTIS apart from other Rap Artists’, is his vision with music, and his fearlessness in doing things differently. The concepts Just’is uses in his songs range from club bangers, street anthems, to politics.
JUST’IS likens himself to a CARDINAL- a peaceful bird who lives and survives on hostile grounds, even amongst the most ferocious of predators. Many others label him: The Positive Bullet from Americas Most Dangerous City!
